Join us for our annual Primitive Biathlon at Forts Folle Avoine Historical Park during the Annual Indoor Trade & Crafters fair. This event combines marksmanship with endurance as participants snowshoe through a course that includes three rounds of traditional black powder rifles or musket shooting at the range.
This year we have two catagories: Hivernants with 16 shots and a mile long route, and Mangeurs De Lard with 16 shots and a half mile route.
This event is open to people of all skill levels and experience. The event will be held regardless of weather. If there is insufficient snow for snowshoes, participants may wear boots. Participants may register using the registration form below. The entry fee is $15, and there will be several prizes for the winners as well as door prizes for participants. This event is co-sponsored by the Burnett County Historical Society and the Traditional Muzzleloading Association.
