The Historical Park is located near Danbury, Wisconsin on 80 beautiful wooded acres along the historic Yellow River.
This is a living history site with two Fur Trade Posts; North West Company and XY Company, reconstructed on the site known to be active from 1802 to 1805. An Ojibwe Village offers insight into Ojibwe life during the time of the fur trade. Several museums, including a logging museum and one-room schoolhouse, showcase other aspects of Wisconsin and Burnett County history.

Summer 2024 has kicked into full bloom at The Forts!
Tours - Events - Flowers - Birds and plenty of beauty! The history of The Forts is unique within Burnett County and in the United States. We have: The Karlsborg One-Room Schoolhouse bult in 1887 by Swedish Immigrants. Our Blacksmith shop Logging Museum The Anderson Cabin set in the early 1920's style resort cabin. Our beautiful gardens and flower beds. Walking trail Burnett County Research Library, open Wednesdays 10 am to 3 pm. And plenty of smiles to share! Don't let the summer pass without a visit, (or two) to Forts Folle Avoine for a unique way to spend your day! |
